Hello! I am trying to use a batch action to place the logo of my photography studio on pictures. When I drag and drop the logo from its file to the picture, it comes out very large. I size it down using Free Transform. However, when the action runs, it says that the Free Transform command is not available. I tried re-sizing the logo before moving it to the picture, but upon dragging it to the picture it needs to convert color profiles, which seems to undo the sizing that was done. The logo is a .psd file. Am I doing something wrong or is there another command I can use to size the picture in the action? Thanks! |

Open your logo file and go ahead and make the color conversion and change its resolution to that of the photos. Drop it on a photo and make sure its the size you want it to be. If all is ok, Save the logo file as a New file using SAVE AS... now use the new file in your action.

I did the conversions, but I'm still having trouble. The error that seems to occur says "The Move command is not available". My guess is because I drag the logo from a seperate file onto the picture and then position it to where I want it. Also, I have tried to flatten the layers and save as a JPEG and even saving as a JPEG and skipping the flattening step. Nothing is working for me. Help! |

Yeah that is a problem... Photoshop can't use the move tool in an action like that. Scripting is one answer.... but lets see if there is a workaround. Are the photos all the same size and are you putting the logo in the same position in ALL of the photos? Yes: You can take the logo PSD and make the canvas size the same as the photos. Position the logo on the canvas where you want it to be in the photos and then save it as an EPS file. Then make your action using the FILE>PLACE command to introduce the logo EPS file. No: forget that reading you just did. |

Yes, they are all the same size and in the same location. I create the action, copy the logo file, close the logo file, paste the logo file on the picture file, resize and position it on the picture file, flatten, save, close, stop recording action. From here I run the batch and still come up with problems.
