Good work, you did find an easier way. Could be an interesting link for me, too, as the company I work for has just installed a plotter for vinyl cutting. (Although it has no connection to Autocad, it is operated directly from Illustrator).

Revisited:

A local firm I'm doing something for uses Autocad, while I was there yesterday I asked them to export a file (containing text, similar to the file above) in all the different formats and brought the disk back to my office.

The DXF format will go right into Illustrator, so thats the REAL answer to your problem, FUU! Pop that joker into Illustrator and you can do whatever you want with it.

Update: Unfortunately PS will not import a dxf :< I discovered that the new version of DataCad willl export alot of diffrent image files Im experimenting to determine which has the best image quality for what I need. At this point it seems like im going to have to spend the extra time to do shape layers I'm slao trying to see if i can adjust the colors in DC.
