Ok, I have made a button (http://www.infinitysys.net/) on my webpage. However, I had it setup to be transparent, but whenever I save it it saves it on a white background... I'm not sure what to do because in the options when I save the gif the transparency is greyed out so I can't change it. You can't tell the button ins't transparent on my page because it is on a white background, but when I put it on a black background I saw that it wasn't transparent at all. Your help is greatly appreciated.

mace, what format are you trying to save to? ... gif? ...png? could you outline the steps you are taking to create the transparent b/g? there must be some small step you are overlooking. what is greyed out? the actual area in the preview window, or the command tab? will wait for your reply |

Well, after I have made my image the very bottom layer in an empty transparent one. Then I delete one pixel in each corner of the image (I'm talking about the button I made) to give it that nifty 3d effect. Then I save it as a GIF and a little window pops up with some preferences. One section is transparency, but the option "None" is selected and greyed out so you can't change it.

are you in PS6? if so: build your image on a layer ABOVE the background layer when you go to save delete the background layer..... file>save for web> file type = .gif Matte = none save. that should work (if you aren't using PS6 holler back) |
