Photoshop v Illustrator

Hello, I am researching the differences between Photoshop and Illustrator and would like your feedback. Could you please answer the questions below?

Which program do you prefer and Why?

What are their different purposes and uses?

What is the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Which is easier to work with?

While Adobe is making HUGE strides to bring them closer together there really isn't a strong group of things to compare between the two.

Photoshop is a raster image application (primarily)
Illustrator is a vector image application (primarily)

I use photoshop more and find it a better programme but they both have differnt uses.

If you are looking at buying just one then I recomend photoshop.
