Hey, My names Andy. I'm looking to build a website, or should should i say mock one up for slicing in photoshop. I have heard many techniques and ways of doing things but am not sure how to work some, or which is best, E.g. With the background, should I create it small then make it bigger after etc etc?. I am quite a beginner to photoshop so any help would be greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas or tips please either post, or e-mail me at andrew@orbhosts.com, if you email me I can show you a few examples of what I'm looking to do. Many Thanks Andy :D |

I generally jump the image to Image ready and then start pulling guides on it where I want my image sliced. Then use the command to create slices from guides command n the slices menu. Then you ususally have to combine a few slices that the guides made into 2 or 3 slice because they intersected. but its pretty painless. Ok , if that all sounded like greek to you, there are tons of tutorials on the net on slicing. Read a few ofthem and you'll get a grasp on the basics. http://www.google.com/search?hs=HiV&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&q=%22slicing+tutorial%22+%2B%22image+ready%22&btnG=Search |

Blend modes and things of that nature are going to come into play as you design the site, Take a little time and read thru the tuts available on this site... then hit it... let us see what you come up with and we'll try to steer you down the narrow path.
