Okay, maybe you guys here can be more of assistance than bloody Adobe.Com.

Here's my problem:
I downloaded a sweet font FFXSpiran.ttf. As we all know, Macontosh reads dfont and so on.

Well, magically, the font works great in Painter IX, but will not show up in PSCS. I used my FontBook to disable quite a few fonts(that's what they said to do at Adobe.Com), well, it didn't work, or I wouldn't be here.
I can select it from the font menu in the program, but when I go to type anything, it's blank. When I move away from the text layer, it will display the letters I typed, but it's still blank. It's quite frustrating.

I've tried searching for plugins, updates, and other resources, and nothing wants to help, or work. I've even duplicated the font several times, and placed it the Adobe Font folders as instructed by another source.

Nothing.

Keep in mind I can't afford any Font converters, and I've tried the really cheap one for Mac. Converting the file isn't an option, and neither is upgrading to CS2(which I've trialed and the font works in that program).

And leads or help would be extremely helpful and possibly stress-relieving.

a few Questions:

After typing have you attempted to rasterize the text? (it might actually be there you just aren't getting a screen preview)

Have you got Illustrator CS? Will the font work in it? If so you have the option of doing your text there and maybe, just maybe you can then place it in PS.

Where did you download the font? (perhaps I can convert it to T1 for you)

I haven't tried resterizing it. I'll try that.

I don't have Illustrator.

I got the font from here;
There's three styles. It's the Spiran one I like. :B
FFX Fonts

If this doesn't work, oh well, thank you very much for taking the time to even address my issue, let alone trying to find solutions.

I would suggest, instead of rasterizing the text, converting it to a shape. That way you can still adjust height, size, etc... and it won't become pixelated as you stretch and move it around. ;)
