Welcome to the group. By "soften" do you mean like the camera filter effect that make the image a little hazy by toning down all the hard lines? I so try this: Open the image, in the layers pallet double click the background layer, and then copy it by dragging it to the new layer icon. with the copied layer active go Filter>Blur>Guassian setting of 2 click OK In the layers pallet change the master opacity to like 65 Make your original layer active and on the layers pallet change the master fill to about 70 or 80.... flatten image A vignette completes the effect. If thats not really what your looking for, give a little more detail or post an example and I'm sure someone can get you close. |

Also try this:- Duplicate Background layer (Working on duplicate layer):- Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur - set radius 4 - 10 pixels Edit>Fade Gaussian Blur - set slider to 50% Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp mask - set amount 80 - 200 radius 2 - 5 threshold 10 -15 Layer>New adjustment layer>Hue/Saturation - set slider 10 - 20 Click eyeball on duplicate layer to compare adjustments to original image. If you follow the basic steps you can adjust all the individual settings to taste. By duplicating the original layer, if it doesn't come out the way you want, you can trash the layer and start over. |

YEah, heard of it, also have seen it used... http://www.namesuppressed.com/design/plugins-soften.shtml But both mine and Wano's post will give you as good results with a little imaginative tinkering without shelling out $20. jmc_21......... response in General chat. |

Thread Locked. The initial question was answered and to stop further, off topic, religious discussion I have locked this thread. |
