just like the title states. how would i go about turning a picture of, let's say, a house shot in the day to a picture of a house that would appear to have been taken in the night time? one exception, however. no sky line is visible so no need to worry about that.

that's 80% of the problem. several Photoshop tutorials exist online, but only a small fraction of them are of supreme quality. the link that you had suggested in your reply was what i was requesting, but it only suggested a black layer over the original with a lowered opacity.

thanks for the help, but help was not the result.

try this one - http://www.effectlab.com/tutfullmoon.php

Its not the best but it has the basics. Also try searching Day to Night on google, it's a popular topic.

Basically your looking to:
1) lower the contrast
2) lower the saturation
3) darken as needed
4) tint the image (cool "night" colors, blue/purple)

Try going to the channels pallet, click on the red channel (in RGB) cmd+A
then cmd+C
click on RGB to bring back your color preview....Back to layers.... add new layer
cmd+V

blend mode multiply.....make a couple copies of that new layer if need be.

use you imagination!
