Font Work Question

Hi guys,
I was recently on iTunes and saw that Busta Rhymes had some new music. I went to the website out of sheer curiosity and saw the title bar with a wicked nice font scheme. Its a bit loaded i know but im curious how they go about doing that? is it designed from scratch or is it a modded font?

I think i can sort of work out breaking the font up and modifying individual components but what would I use as a base? any suggestions?

look into some calligraphy fonts...and possibly something like old english
