Whatever effect you want to do with a selection, whether it's painting or cutting out or applying blur or sharpening, anything at all... If you don't want it to have a sharp, sudden transition with the rest of the image, apply a feathered edge to it. This blends whatever effect you do into the background according to the size of the feather. Large feather radius, gentle, gradual blend, useful for paint effects, blurring etc. Small feather radius, sharper, more defined edge to the effect, useful for cutting and pasting, for example. Just play with the radius settings before applying the effect. The thing is you won't see much difference with the appearance of the marcheng ants when you father (except maybe some rounding of the corners on a rectangular selection) so you'll have to apply the effect, check out the results and undo/redo feather if it's not what you wanted. Hope this helps |
