Hello,

Can someone please help me cut an image in photoshop. I want to cut a picture of me from a image and place it in another image. Does anyone know what to use in photoshop CS2.

Example:

im working on a tutorial since this is a commopn project for people. but heres a quick overview.

There ar emany ways to select things in photoshop. probly over 15.
Start with the magic wand tool and see if you can delete background e.g. sky, ground.. the magic wand tool is great for those kinds of things (if there isnto to much color information there.)

once your done that. switch over to quick mask mode and make the color black your forecolor. Now click on the eraser tool and erase everything you want to keep. so basickly erase your whole body or whatever your cutting out

TIP: you will need to zoom in quite close when ding this, also switching the size of the brush. Practice makes perfect.

once you have your selection completly erased,..click the button next to the quick mask button "edit in standard mode" and return to your image.

you shoudl now see a marching ants. from the file menu do select >inverse

you now have what you want selected. copy that on to a new layer and there you have it.

you now want to smoothe out the edges so you can do some retractions to the edges with the selection or feather and so on. clean it up.

like i said this takes alot of patience, practice and hard work so the more you doit the better and easier it will become.

hope this helped.

Like i said im working on a easy to follow tutorial on my website ill keep people posted.
