Hi. I have got photoshop 7. I am trying to find a font like an old tapestry. Similar to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Steve. |

I think any font you find is likely to be too regular compared to your example. The original tapestry would have been hand-stitched, each character being slightly different. It depends on how much text you need to apply, but why not paint the text freehand with the brush tool? You could use the ruler guides to keep your lines straight-ish. This would be much easier using a graphics tablet if you have one? Best of luck |

Thank you Kane and Wano. Kane, I've downloaded one of the fonts. I extracted it into a folder. How do I install it and use it in photoshop? Does anybody know? I'm not usually baffled by things like this but this time I am :o |

If you're running Photoshop in Windows, go to Settings, Control Panel. The fonts folder is in there. Drag the font icon into there and it should be available to use straight away. If you're on a Mac you may need someone else's help! I use one at work but not too familiar with the OS yet. If you have a font manager installed, eg Extensis Suitcase or Fontbook, you can drag the font onto the icon in the dock. If you don't, I'm not sure how to do it manually, as in Windows. |

Wano, I bow down to you. You're a star. Thank you very much. I've been tearing my hair out trying to work out how to do this. I've just tried it and presto!! It works. Kane, equal thanks to you for the ace site. Regards, Steve. |
