Hi guys, I've got a Photoshop file that someone wants me to use as a template. It has an existing layer that I need to put a picture into without modifying the layer or creating a new one. Whenever I cut and paste a picture into it, the pasted picture becomes "Layer 1" but I want it to paste onto a layer which is already there (rather than become a new layer). Thanks heaps! Neilo  |

Hi Copy and paste the image this will as you say create a new layey, but in the pop down menu in the layers pallete you can use the merge down function which is just above flattern image. Merge down will create on sigle layer. Cid |

Thanks cybercid... Yeah that's actually what I had been doing. I eventually got a reply from the company asking me to do this and they didn't know what they meant either. They said to just do what I was doing so it's all good now. Thanks for your help! :p
