I cannot figure out how to make a batch process do some work on files in a folder, then "Save for Web..." each file into a new folder, without having to hand click on save/etc dialog windows. I want each out file to have the same name as the input file, but put into a different folder. Photoshop CS 2 for Mac Thanks |

Pretty simple really Start by creating your output folder Then open an image in PS and make a new action in the action pallete. click the record button on the action pallete and do EXACTLY what you want done to the images including the "SAVE FOR WEB" then click the stop button. Now go >File>Automate>Batch Select the new action you just recorded Select the source folder where Ps is to go get the images and the output folder where PS is to put them Make sure "override save in commands" IS NOT checked Tell it Ok and you're off to the races |

Sure it did (work in 7) in fact it worked in 6... The thing is if the "override save in" box is ticked it stops and makes you tell it what to do. |

I spent almost an hour yesterday morning trying to get it to work in v7 (that's when I upgraded to CS2). No matter what combination of checkboxes etc were set, it always either (a) asked for each pic, or (b) saved everything under the original file name - not the current file name... Perhaps I had a corrupted script... |

It has stopped working again "Cannot find folder" - the one in the original Export command. I have specified "override action 'save as' command" and I have specified the Batch output folder I want to use, which is NOT the original "Save for Web... action folder" which no longer exists. Must I re-define the Save for Web with the current output folder EVERY TIME I want to use this action-script? I want the "output folder" to be taken from the "Batch dialog", and the compression to be taken from the "Save for Web..." action item... Anyone? |
