Hi! A friend asked me to make a specific graphic for her, with a lot of curves. But the curves are way too pixelated! Is there a way to make it less pixelated? The curves look like stairs to me... I used both Illustrator and Photoshop, but I only saved the last file, so I would appreciate it if I didn't have to start over... ^^ Here's the picture: Thank you very much! I'm really desperate... |

You should be able to apply a slight blur, either with the blur tool or using gaussian blur. You don't have any details to lose since you have smooth color. Or you could start over. I can't imagine it would take too long. Use the pen tool in photoshop to trace the shape, gradient-fill it, and copy it twice. |

Thanks! I'll try that! About starting over, just a question... I did try to trace the shape with Photoshop, but I can't seem to get a clear shape that way. Is there a way to make the pen tool follow a specific line? |

hmmm, that is where the magic wand is used most commonly. you are only working with like 3 colors so the cut shouldn't mix with its neighboring colors. you can also use the magnetic lasso. as for ridding the picture of the rough edges, yeah, you can use an effective blur or your choice or simply just starting out with a super-huge surface and, when you complete the work, reduce the image by clicking on image>image size tab. this will give you really clean, smooth work (in most cases). in lehmans terms, a much higher resolution. |

make a path with the pen tool, convert the path to a selection then u can duplicate your shape. the pen tool kinda is the "path" maker, so about making it follow a path,..thats basicly the only way.. -tim |

Yes, I think the pen tool is the way to go for a sharp line. To make it easier to follow a line, try ticking the rubber band option. This gives you a kind of preview of the next segment of line before you click the mouse. To activate it click on the black arrow about half-way across the toolbar near the top of the screen, then put a tick in the box next to rubber band.
