If you're on a Mac go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete or move or rename all of the preference files related to Adobe. Then launch Photoshop again and it'll recreate them all to factory defaults. If you're not on a Mac, buy a Mac. |

i don't know why i hadn't tried that before. i followed the link to about.com and there tutorial on how to reset to default preferences. so to reset to default -- everybody -- press and hold ctrl+alt+shift after opening photshop but before the credits box appears. then a dialogue box appears asking to reset to default. that should fix all problems that you might have with your existing photshop (5.0 and up). |
