 whenever [on any photo] i apply auto levels or auto contrast or auto color from the image>adjustments tab, the entire photo will completely white out as if i had added a new white layer over my active layer (which i am not doing). however, it only does this in 'auto' changes. so if i were to manually adjust my levels or my contrast or color, the 'white-out' effect wouldn't occur.

please help. i really need this feature. i have already uninstalled/reinstalled photoshop cs2 and that didn't seem to fix the problem.

never heard of that happening before,..but honestly the auto features doesnt work to well sometimes. try to do it yourself, see how it comes out. if you dont like it ctl + z... play with the sliders, practice makes perfect :D

Sorry, this reply probably won't help much... But I also use those features too with no problems... Maybe there is a setting somewhere that tells PS how to apply these auto corrections which you can change.

I've never heard of this problem. My advice is double check everything

- what layer your on
- what blending mode your using, if any
- what channel your on
- what image mode (RGB)
- if your on a mask channel
etc.

If it still happens, try a photo from another source, like one from the net instead of your camera etc. Maybe its got something to do with your files?

If it still happens, delete your prefs file. It may not have been deleted when you unistalled, so you should rebuild it.
