Hello everyone, it's my first post so a quick intro: amatuer photographer (D50 dSLR) somewhat new to photoshop (around 6 months of practice) and am getting used to it BUT I have a problem: up unitl this point I have been mainly editing and tweaking still projects but now I'm trying to get into the animation (for another forum :p) I have all the images but when I go to Save for Web, it won't let me change the delay at all from the whip-lash  fast 0.2 seconds a frame! :o It's great.... I just can't have it going that fast and don't know how to extend the delay :( ... thanks for any answers you have! I think this forum will be just the place for me :D Update: here't what I have on the project if it helps: Format: GIF Dimensions: 139w x 206h Size: 45.66K Settings: Selective, 128 Colors, 88% Diffusion Dither, 4 frames, Transparency on, No Transparency Dither, Non-Interlaced, 0% Web Snap |

window>animation to bring up the palette. select the frame you want to change,...then on the bottom right of the image there is a tiny little drop down triangle...click that and you should be able to set a new transition value. -tim |

Perhaps it's because I'm using Elements (4) instead of CS2 but the only place I'm seeing any reference to animation is File > Save for Web > Animation checkbox. Once there in the Animation box, the delay set won't open..... any more ideas? |

no idea what the animation capabilities of Elements are, in PS/imageready there's an animation window. you check the help?

Yeah, I checked help - doesn't tell me anything more than I already know (or anything more than what I have been doing).... Help acts like I should always be able to change the delay, no matter what presets I'm on. The funny thing is, I can make it into an animation and once I've clicked animation - the boxes are highlighted, but I can't open the actualy delay slider: there's no reaction. For those of you NOT using elements... ^ I can't open the "Fram Delay" slider.... |

I got nothin', sorry. you might try downloading a demo of photoshop and using that if it's a one shot thing. i'm sure there's also some GIF animation freeware/shareware out there if you look around.

I'm not finding much and I was really hoping to do this with photoshop (since I've already dropped $80 for it) Oh well... thanks for trying |

Well... that's what it looks like in Elements 4 (mac)... Do any of you know of any presets that could prevent me from changing the delay? If so, I bet they would be pretty much the same in imageready as elements (essentially) I guess in the meantime I can always just 'new layer via copy' to extend the delay...... makes the file bigger though.... |
