Hey guys, Lets say that I have three words and I want to display them one after the other how would I do that. Its like this, I display word A for x seconds, word B for x seconds, and finally word C for x seconds then do entire process infinitely. But when the words are displayed, I want them filcker (quickly) for a random amount of time before they change. I cant really explain the last part very good, I hope you can understand what I'm talking about (think scary theme). thank you |

You can do it in flash or with an animated GIF. Flash would be more flexible. I have no idea how to do it though. I'm sure you could find some basic flash tutorials to get you started on google.

This is not possible with photoshop? Can photoshop do those animated gifs? I rather stay away from flash for now. I wanted to use it as my signature and flash would require an extra download for other users to view it.

98% of the users on the internet have Flash installed, but yeah you can do it with an animated GIF. http://www.blingo.com/search?q=creating%20animated%20gif%20photoshop&x=0&y=0 |

flash would be your best option, like stated above, www.flashkit.com is a good start. if you dont want any transititon, use image ready. create all your text layers in photoshop, then at the bottom of the tool palette, click the image ready button,.. then open the animation window in image ready then add the frames and how long to be displayed. there is also a repeat x times option,..just change it to infinite or 999999 -tim |

create each piece of text on a new laye rin photoshop. find the layers palette and click on the new page at the bottom of the box. now put in your text or image. repeat 3x or to how many changes you want to make. bring the image into image ready. and hide all the other layers but the first frame you want. open the animations window. your first piece of text should be displayed in frame 1. add a new frame. hide all the layers except the layer you want for frame 2. repeat. at the bottom of each frame box in the animation window there is a tiny drop down where you can insert the delay or transition time. adjust accordingly. hope this helped and didnt make you more confused. its late for me so i cant think to well, if your having any more problems ill check in the morning. -tim |

Hi tim, I am a litlle confused by your first paragraph. If its possible could you start from scratch. I am very new to photoshop and am unsure of what you are talking about. Mayb it would help alittle if I told you what I was doing. This first this I do is create a new image. Then I create a new layer and write some words on that layer. Then I make another layer and write some more words on that layer. But all the words appear on the same "layer" of the image. --thank you. |

make sure you have the correct layer selected when drawing on it. the layer should be dark blue in the layers window
