Hey people, I'm making a website template in photoshop and when trying to make a curved box for the banner using the "Polygonal Lasso Tool" with Feather set to 10px. Howeber when i fill the area i get it fading at the edges when i jsut want sharp edges. I have taken a screenshot in the link below: http://files.rossmurrell.co.uk/photoshop.PNG If someone could help me that would be great. Reagrds, Ross |

Hi, RossM. Well that is what feathering does...It fades it out. In order to make rounded corners try using channels instead like ie in this tutorial: http://www.absolutecross.com/tutorials/photoshop/interfaces/round-edges/ Or the selection tool in this tutorial: http://user.fundy.net/morris/photoshop10.shtml Patric. |

The way i do it is: Take the Rectangular Marquee Tool and make the size of the area you would like the banner to be. Then go to select > modify > smooth (whilst the area is still selected) and set it to around 5-10 (or more or less depending on how round you want the edges). Hope this helps, let me know how it goes. |
