Need Help Fast

I am the owner of a company called S&S Micro Solultions. I had a logo designed for me by Sure Logos, however, they did not include a transparent version for me to put on business cards. The image is locked into one layer. When I use the magic wand to delete the background, it turns to a pinkish color. The image is in a TIFF format. HOw can I delete the background to get a transparent background

I guess it must be because it's in TIFF because else I can't imagine why ur background would be pink, that's pretty weird (I don't know TIFF and I don't know this effect). Maybe you could show it to us?
