keyboard shortcuts completely deffective

This is SOOOO frustrating. I have Photoshop CS and for some reason the keyboard shortcuts do not work what so ever! It's a real gripe especially when selecting fonts because you can't simply scroll through as the arrow keys do not work so you end up having to randomly pick fonts to see how they look. As if font choosing isn't a gripe in itself!!!:mad:

any help?

Ctrl+z and Ctrl+Alt+Z also do not work which makes undoing a great displeasure

so, you photoshop boffins are trying to tell me that you dont know??????
