I have searched the forum and found a link to a tutorial on this but the link is dead. Here is what I have. I have a brush set to do this but it is VERY time consuming. So, I need to find out how to design a copyright notice and then batch stamp it onto a folder of photos. I have tried and tired to figure this out but not getting anywhere. I am going to either to one across the middle very opaque or I want it down the side of the photo. Then I want to save the batch into a new file and keep the originals intact for printing, etc. I am using PhotoShop CS. Thanks!!

With one of your photos open, you need to record an "action". Go to the action palette, and click the new layer icon (aka new action). After you click "record", design your copyright. Im not sure if you have a brush to do this or not, but the easiest way is to type alt+0169 with the text tool to get the copyright symbol out of most fonts. Then mess with it from there (ie font, size, opacity, location etc). Now close your image (dont save it) and go to File > Automate > Batch. Here you can open your orignal folder of images, process them, and save them to a different location, so your originals are intact. The manual has specific instructions for batch/actions. |

Nothing shows up. ??? |

Actually I did leave out one step, I was hoping you would catch it, you may have though im not sure. What you need to double check is when your in the Batch dialog, make sure you have selected the "action" you just recorded, and the "set" it's in. Not only do you need to tell photoshop what file to batch, but also what action to use in the process. Thats what needs to be double checked. If you did that, and still the same result.....then something else is wrong. You'll have to be more specific about the steps you took. |

OK, I did the Action to Copyright, which is what I named it. There is only 1 set listed, Default Actions.atn. That seems to be wrong.

Thats fine actually. If you havnt created a new set, then all your actions will be recorded in the "default" set. The important thing is that your "named action" is available. If it is, everything should work fine.

I have followed each step several times to make sure and a freind even walked me through it on the phone. |
