Does anybody know how to make realistic animated fire? I've looked all over and I can't find a tutorial anywhere about it... :( Can anybody help? [EDIT: removed your sig, that needs to drop around 900k at least - fig] |

Realistic and animated your not going to have much luck with. The only way to really pull it off is use of a 3d app w/ particles. Even then realistic is hard to achieve. If you wanted a 2d solution you could go frame by frame. Maybe manip an image of fire or possibly paint your own. If you go the manip route, id get on google and do some research first. Then each frame clone it in some sort of natural movement. It'd be much easier to get a video (stock) or shoot your own (have a camera?). Any thing else requires a bit of work, much more than a tutorial can provide. Exactly what are you using it for? ps - your sig is HUGE! 1mb for any posted image is unacceptable. I think 50k is the limit for sigs around here. |

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry about the sig too. I like it that much that I use it wherever I post. I was going to make a sig with moving flames and I hate unrealistic looking fire. |
