Curious how to fill a box with a gradient that vertically fades from a darker color in the upper area to a lighter color in the lower area of the box. Can anybody lay some knowledge down on this one please?

Uhm, just use the gradient tool? First select the box that you want to fill, and than drag a gradient from the top to the bottom. http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=nl&newwindow=1&rls=ITVA%2CITVA%3A2005-39%2CITVA%3Aen&q=photoshop+gradients+tutorial&lr= Look up some tutorials on google, it really is easy. |

Actually I have looked at quite a few tutorials trying to figure out why I cannot get a gradient to fill a new layer overlying another layer. Can anybody help? Is is because I am choosing "new layer" instead of "new fill layer" for the gradient? |

nope, you should just be able to create a new layer, select the gradient tool and drag it across your canvas to create a gradient fill. chris |
