I have added some .ttf fonts in the Fonts folder in the Control Panel. I have done this before (on another computer) and they showed up fine. For some reason they aren't showing up on this computer. I am using PS 6 and have the 6.0.1 update (if that matters).

Have you quit and re-launched Photoshop?

Do those newly added fonts show up in other applications?
(ie. word, wordperfect... etc.)

What operating system and version?

Lastly: what was the font?

The reason I ask: I downloaded a font the other night. "Zeal" ...installed it....and NEVER got it active. I ended up just physically finding it and draggin it to the recycle bin....

can't for the life of me remember where I downloaded it from....I even checked my history....(needle in a hay stack) and came up empty....

Well, it doesn't show up in any other programs, so I guess it's not just Photoshop.

I'm using Win ME.

The font was Planet Kosmos.

I have no idea why this isn't working.

Try opening the font in the folder...Does it open? (Go to font folder double click the file). How many fonts u have in your font folder? All of the extra fonts u put in the folder don't work...or just that one? Best way to use your extra fonts is with a font manager i.e. HP FontSmart, if you load too many in windows it will slow down ur systems and u can end up with a corrupt font folder, I have a Font folder on my slave HD and in that folder I have my FontSmart and all my extra fonts, now I am a font feind lol I have over 10,000 of them. As well as designing them now. They say Windows can handle up to 800 - 900 fonts, but in all reality u start having problems at 400-500. Using a manager is easy and u don't lose fonts as easily either specially if u have a slave HD. If you don't have a manager and would like one let me know I will be glad to email u FS . This also makes it easy to view and print samples of all your fonts! Feel free to email me personally

WOW I love this site!!!! :D To Email AniKawi
