i've worked with photoshop for a few years now. so i'm no guru... but i've played with settings and preferences and resolution...and the problem remains: when viewed at anything other than 100%, all text is pixelated, no matter if it's smooth, crisp...whatever. it prints fuzzy as well. i have run into this problem with photoshop (CS) before, but it was on a school computer and someone else fixed it. now i have my own (CS2) and i'm at a loss at what to do! it's probably something really stupidly simple, but it's still frustrating and i need some expertise. my professor was even at a loss without doing any messing around with it.... |

check your character palette and make sure your text is set to something other than "None", probably the issue... chris |

if it helps any... i typed in the times font with the document resolution on 72. it was pixelated. when i changed it to 300, it got a little better, but was still pixelated when i zoomed in to anything but 100%. the type was set on "smooth" the whole time. i thought it might be fine, it's just the computer monitor...but i printed it out and it was way more fuzzy than normal. it looked aweful. my computer, or my program has never done this until now. it was fine until...i have no idea what happened. i didn't change anything. actulaly, just to be clear, what i did was i took an image from adobe bridge and opened it up in photoshop. i placed some text on the image and it was pixelated. although the image looked and printed out just fine, the text was pixelated and fuzzy. |

i've been talking to some people and i've been advised that it could be a courrupted "p file"? something like that. and it's very possible. so i'm going to try to uninstall CS2 and reinstall it. that would take care of any corrupted files....

I dont want to sound like a idiot, but your not using a pixel font are you?...lol Those types of fonts are usually set to 8px - 15px in size, anything above 15 in size will make it look like blocks or pixelated. |
