Hi, I'm creating an image for a client and he specifically requested the color 226m pantone matte. So basically I highlighted the logo, went to channels and created a spotcolor channel with the 226m. I then filled the channel with the shape of the logo. Now, the logo is placed over some other image, but now it seems kinda of transparent using the spot channel. So basically, what is the best way to show a spot color on the image? I tried saving the picture using Save For Web, but the logo came out grey. Any ideas? thanks

Check your working mode. We concentrate on two modes, CMYK and RGB. To create spot colours, go to a program such as illustrator or Corel, pick a colour using the colour system and write down the values. Pantone 226 =eg: C:0 M:99 Y:0 K:0 etc. or R: 211 G: 2 B: 115 Then, in Photoshop adjust the equivalent values in the mode you are working with. Tip: Duotones. Allow specific Spot colours but be carefull when outputting. Photoshop is a pixel based program. Hope it helps. BillyTea http://www.australiasigns.com.au |
