Hello. I'm a pixel artist for 2D games. I'm really used to create graphics with Jasc Paint Shop 7 but my new contractor (for a cell game) obligates me to use Adobe Photoshop 7. I face major issues that make me uneasy with “low color” pixelation. My first issue is with the Line Tool which makes irregular lines instead of accurate algorithm lines... I really need these lines to be precise so I can go on with my work. Is there any way I can fix that problem? Is my program buggy? I would really appreciate your help! |

I don't realy know, but it often takes a few days for geting an answer here. (And I think double-posting isn't realy appreciated). I decided to check out if the lines are realy so bad and I made this: For me this lines look pretty perfect. i made them with the line tool using 1px and saved them in best quality. I guess one of us is doing something wrong. Maybe it's me because there has to be something special about the lines, but I suppose it's u... :D |

Thank you doody. But the real problem is that I need to use the line tool without the "anti-alias" option. Can you show me the same example without the "anti-alias" option checked and see if your lines look as irregular as mine? Thank you. |

if your using the line tool, they should be perfect lines because it is a vector image.

I don't remember how PS 7 managed the line tool. From the CS1 version though the line tool is vector as Zyc says. but PS renders it to screen as antialias and you said you don't want this. My example shows lines made with the pencil tool instead of the line tool. The way PS manages that didn't change through the versions. What I did was this: I clicked with the pencil tool on the canvas, pressed SHIFT and kept it pressed and then clicked with the pencil tool someplace else. I got a line between the 2 points. I don't know if that helps or if the lines are good enough for what you need. Rodder's our resident pixel art freak - hey Rod - where you at? |

:( I can't figure out how to make them not "anti-alias". And when I check my dictionairy it says that aliasing is an "image imperfection". So it should be rather logical that without anti-alias ur image is imperfect... Grtz, Doody |
