Hi, i'm new to photoshop (got ps6 a month ago) and every time i try something i just end up screwing up. I was working with paint shop pro 7 before and now,i want to upgrade my images so i tried ps6. But ps6 is much harder(psp7 is a child game compare to it) and now i wanna learn ps6 cuz i know...well we all know it can give awsome results. So i wanna learn...the thing is that all my friends are with psp7 and just don't wanna help me with that confusing stuff.....anybody got time for a confused guy here? I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes, start with the tutorials. Most people start there. Then when you have a specific problem or question, ask it here. But asking a question like yours will get no answers, because it is impossible to answer that question. That's like asking how to be an artist.

Discipline yourself to doing some studying. Buy some 3rd-party books (The Photoshop Bible by Deke McClelland is highly recommended) and read. Dig through the help files that come on the CD. Practice. Experiment. Practice some more. Experiment even more. Try to find some projects to work on for friends, family or school. Being jammed up against a deadline can be a great motivationj to learn. Then practice and experiment some more. Try to figure stuff out yourself before you run screaming to ask every little question in forums like this one. The knowledge you gain will have a real value to you. Learn how EVERYtool and process works, and learn their limitations. Once you know these things you won't really have to ask anyone how to create an effect. Photoshop will simply be a tool in your toolbox; it will be an extension of how you think in an artistic sense. If you really dig doing computer graphics, the studying won't seem like a chore....quite the opposite. If you have the passion for doing this stuff, you'll be likely to discover that you'll want to read everything you can wrap your eyeballs around. If it DOES seem like a chore.....take up fishing. |

AniKawi I'd join but I don't have AOL =( You should use an IRC room. AOLers and others can use it too. I bet you'd get a bunch more users. |

I would like to move this workshop to a room on the net voice chat would be a great plus too but not a requirement...only prob I am finding with the ones I have tried is that they cut out real bad and long delays...would welcome any link to site where I could move this workshop and not deal with those problems. I had a room that was great with chat and all none of the above problems and they closed up shop lol...not that AOL is wonderful as they think they are anyway lol I would gladly move.

There's a crew hanging out in irc.othersideirc.net in the channel #teamps Deker and Axiom are ops in the channel, talk to them about using that channel for your forum. If you don't have an IRC program, you can download mIRC @ http://www.mirc.com |
