Got a question for those well-versed in print jobs: What exactly does a 2 or 3-color print mean? Is it the number of spot colors (eg, Pantone colors) used for the artwork, or the number of process colors used (C, M, Y and/or K)? Pls advise. thanks. |

It can be one or the other: I've seen places print with K and C, but more often it is a spot color. Sometimes, the plates are named C or M, but there is a note, so that the printer knows what Pantone to use.

2-color could be black and white with a spot color but more often would be a duotone (which usually uses black and a color). it could also be two spot colors. chris |
