make an image lifesize

how do I make an image the actual size it would be if I were to print it out?

I have an image that if I go Image>Image size... it says it's 5.5inches ... but it only takes up 3.5 inches of the screen

it is important that it prints out at 5.5inches not 3.5 inches which is what it is doing .. if I open it in firefox or another app that can print images onscreen it is 3,5 not 5.5 inches :confused:

BTW .. I'm using PS7, if that matters

It will still print out right.

Thats just a result of the resolution you picked for it, it will still print out correctly.

You can make "Image size" work correctly by measuring your actual screen resolution and changing the setting in Photoshop's preferences. I'll try to find step-by-step directions and post them later.

thnx .. fiddling with the pixels per inch I got right .. sorta .. not exact but close enough
