need help

i hav a question.. i want to make a photo dedicated 2 my frens. i hav collected each individual photo of them (5 of them) and want to merge them into one photo, meaning i cut some parts of the photos and paste them into one single photo which i will edit afterwards to put some effects. I juz bought this software (photoshop cs) todae n am really confused... can somebody help me? or post some of ur creations??? thx in advance

Photoshop has a steep learning curve, it may take some time to get used to.

For the project you are doing I would suggest a tutorial on Layer masking.
