Im working on a project in Photoshop CS and I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips. What im trying to do is transfer the exact colors, shading, and highlights of one image to a different image that is black and white and has different shading in different areas. So it would look something like this pic. What kind of steps or tools can I use to do this? Thanks.

I assume you've found your way to the Adjustments, Hue&Saturation, with Colorize checked. Play with the sliders to get as close as you can to the color you want, then click okay. The rest of the issue (if I understand you) is that the highlights and shadows aren't as intense in the 'colorized' version of the greyscale. To make the highlights and shadows more intense, become one with the dodge and burn tools. You can find some tutorials on these, but they're pretty intuitive once you start playing with them. Just be aware that there's three ranges in the tool menubar: Highlights, Midtones, and Shadows. Each give different results. Save an original layer of the just colorized version, and play with duplicate layers to get the desired effects. You may be able to adjust Levels to get part of the way to where you want to go, but I think the dodge/burn will be more custom results.

There are 2 things I can think of:
-) Distort the first image and cut a bit (in the example u gave u can just cut of 2 corners)
-) Make a selection of the shape of the second image / Select the layer of the first image / Click the stamp-tool / Alt-click the first image (best on a corner)/ paint in the selection (still with the stamp-tool).
In case u want to keep more then the shape of the 2nd image (it also contains some spots in the example) u can play with the opaticy of the layers...
