Well the answer on that depends how complicated u want it. When u want it simple and asks this because ur very new to photoshop I can help u: just open or copy ur photo to photoshop. Then click to make ur text. Type the text u want, select ur text (or just click the layer in the layer-window), chose ur color (black) and the font u want (and font-size,...). Now we should get it on the image: go to edit--> transform image and check out some of the tools there: they will help u to give ur text the right shape. U can also press CTRL-T for "free transform" and u can switch between the tools by right-clicking on the image. I think lowering the visibility (in ur layer-window; it should be at 100% before u change it) could also help a bit. When all this isn't working (maybe u already knew it) u better show an image what's wrong and/or tell us... The only thing I can think of why it wouldn't work yet is that the light is complicated on ur photo... But it's also possible u want to make a hypersuper-realistic tattoo and then u need some1 else to help u ;) Wow, I typed a lot for something easy :p |

If you are trying to put it on an arm use spherize (horizantal) to make it look like it is wrapping around the arm. Also like doody said, decrease the opacity of the text layer slightly. Also showing us the image could help greatly.

Sorry to say yankeeben, but your approach is wrong. It might work for the perfect angle of the arm, but to bend it to the arm, definately use a displacement map. Search google for it if you are unfamiliar with them. Also, don't decrease the opacity of the text layer, use a blend mode such as overlay.

Thanks I forgot about displacement maps. I've used them before yet whenever I need them I can never remember what it is called.
