Hi all, Can anyone help creating futuristic metallic skins.....??? If any of you have seen VTC advanced photoshop course by Jayse then you know what I am on about. He creates metalic looking skin using curves, displacement maps, curves etc...but on his last "15 - Nicole Face" lesson there are steps which are skipped.... My question is does anyone know how he adjusts the curves to create highlights on the images (One looks like he has played around with the curves and animated it...I don't know how he has done this). Sorry if no one can understand what I am on about here....but if anyone can give me some links etc where this technique on creating metallic skin...that would be awesome |

I havent seen the training materials you mentioned, but I'm going to take a shot in the dark. I would suppose that the instructor is using the "animated" curves dialogue to demonstrate using curves with Preview turned on and you making the adjustments manually. With the preview turned on you can adjust the curve until you are happy with the look of your image (placing highlights and shadows and such). Every time I'm trying to make something metalic I use a curve with four or five STEEP peaks and valleys. I hope this makes some sense. |
