Hey! Im new to this forum, but i have much photoshop experience.

I have a question about Opening .avi files into IR
When I try to import/open an avi file in ImageReady, the import/open window comes up but then another window pops up telling me that quicktime does not have the plugins required to import the file and the plugins are not available on the quicktime server, when i proceed to import/open the image turns blank. I tried updating my quicktime, I updated image ready.

Any suggestions what to do?

Im on winXP btw.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can only import QuickTime .mov files into ImageReady. I don't think .avi files will work.

Try opening the video in a video editor of your choice and exporting to ".mov" then importing into ImageReady.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. Although I havent managed to make it work yet.
I cant seem to find any video editors that can export movies into ".mov" files.

It was no biggie anyway

Do you have QuickTimePro? Plus, you MAY need the DiVX codex to open the .avi file in QuickTimePro. I haven't messed with doing movie stuff in QTPro/ImageReady for awhile, so I forget. (I used to open SnapzPro motion captures of screen activity in QTPro, export as frrames, and convert them to GIF animations in ImageReady)

Once you have the file open in QuickTimePro, you can export the movie as a folder full of frames which you can then import to ImageReady.
