Finally problem solved. I failed to do this with Rhino (it could be that Rhino isn't supposed to do this) and got it with PS layers Now writing the tutorial of how I did. Strange, I couldn't find any such tute on the web, I'll be greatful to recieve some links. Of course, it may well be that I missed something. If there's anyone who knows of a utility doing this I'd surely appreciate. pot |

First, let me admit that I haven't worked enough with 3D applications to have a very good understanding of how to use them to their fullest extent. But, after reading your post and looking at your image I fired up my copy of Carrara (I only have it because it came free with a copy of DIGIT magazine), created an oddly shaped object and mapped a photo onto it. It looked more correct than yours does, but given that I'm not that great, as I said, it also left a lot to be desired. I'm sure if I really knew my way around the application it could be made to look pretty authentic. It was inspiring though, because I had forgotten how much fun it is to play with 3D stuff. I have a feeling that I'll be playing around with Carrara a whole bunch more today and this weekend. All I can say is that you might want to figure out how to create a more realistic-looking mapping onto that teapot surface before you spend too much time writing up a tutorial that will ultimately leave people wanting something more. |
