Hi there I am a wedding Photographer. Of late I have been asked by my clients about Magazine styled albums. I found out that Photoshop offers Picture Packaging with which you can develop Magazine Albums. But when I tried using it, I didn't find it very useful. Can anyone please guide me with the correct process. Cheers PC |

How in-depth of a guide are you looking for? I could spend hours on this subject. If you are trying for a layout where the images appear in frames on a colored or patterned background then I suggest using ImageReady CS (the software that comes with Photoshop). With ImageReady CS you can make a template and assign variables to different layers in the template. Then you define a set of variables in a spread-sheet program and save it as a comma deliminated or tab deliminated data set. Import that data set into ImageReady and export many pages with the variables placed for you. Variables can be "Text replacement" "Pixel replacement" and "Visibility." So you can make a template that has place-holders for three images, say, and seperate layers with text fields sized and positioned below the images. Then using the data set you can replace the place-holders with pictures and have the text replaced at the same time. I hope that made some sense. Picture Package is just that, it is a device for quickly ligning up images on a sheet for print. The pictures are ment to be cut after printing. Let me know what you are hoping to learn, I can try to be a bit more coherent and help you. |
