I have used Photoshop a long time, so this sounds like a stupid question... I am trying to draw a straight diagonal line, and I usually click once with the pencil tool, hold down the shift key and then click again to end the line, but for some reason, it isn't working. I just get two little spots and no line. I can't figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?

hmm. Maybe you didnt have shift fully down? or you hit another key......something like that. Have you reset the tool/restarted PS and all that? Also is your shift button broken (it could happen i guess). Otherwise i have no idea.

Thanks Rodder for the tips, I will see about resetting the tool. The shift key works otherwise, so I don't think it is that. I thought about re-installing the program. This computer I have is new and it has some strange quirks anyway. I have to restart a lot. You would think a brand new g5 wouldn't be so flakey, or maybe it is the os. I had a g3 before, so there is a lot that is new. To me a computer is a lot like a car, I know where to put the key and the gas, but if it doesn't work, I need help. Thanks again, Queen Motifa
