Hey guys I'm curious if there are any 3d toolsets available for photoshop? Basically something that would allow me to easily create spheres, cubes and other 3D objects. Hopefully being able to be complety texturized and lit by rendering different lighting effects.

I find a lot of 3D software confusing to use and hard to learn. I'd just like to be able to do simple stuff like this for graphics work.

I'm sure there is. But it is much easier and more flexible to create 3D objects in a 3D program (i.e. 3D Studio Max, Maya, even Bryce if you have to)

And this stuff is by no means "simple." A texturized sphere with lighting effects would require a lot out of photoshop... a texture for instance. You can simulate 3D inphotoshop but it usually takes a lot of work.

My personal take on it would be to invest the time in learning to use a 3D rendering program. It will pay off in the end.

There are a ton of 3D plug ins out there...personally, I use Illustrator (a sister program to Photoshop by Adobe) and there are amazing effects available there. You can download a trial version from adobe's site. Very easy to use once you take a few minutes to play with it.

CM is right, though...the 3D stuff is tough to use unless you are prepared to take the time to learn it.

You will find a ton of 3D plug ins right on the Adobe site, by the way...click on the tab for plug ins...and search by 3D.

Bon chance, mon ami!

Try http://www.xara.com/products/xara3d/.

Used this when I was curious about 3d.

No way near a real 3-d progam in regards to performance/price.

But you can knock out simple stuff...

goodluck
