I hope somebody can help me... I purchased one of the extremepixel vBulletin skins with the idea that I would customize the color scheme myself since the designer (Pank) provides all the native PS files. Well I got 'em and even though I'have fooled around with PS a bit I cannot understand how the files were made and what it takes to change some of the colors of the graphics. Anybody want to help me? Tell me what information I can provide and I'll go through it step by step based on what you want to know. Sleepless in Seattle! :( Thanks. ~ CB |

Having never seen one of Panks vBulletin skins, I can only assume my answer will be correct: The easiest, though not the most precise, method of changing the color of the images, would be to proceed as follows: ----------------------------------- 1) Open one image 2) Select the color that you want to change to, and place it in your pallette as the foreground color 3) Ensure that if the file is in .gif format, go to Image --> Mode --> RGB 4) Go to Image --> Adjustments --> Hue/Saturation 5) Check the "Colorize" checkbox in the lower-right hand corner, and click "OK" To automate this process for all images within the folder, create a batch, because this process may become cumbersome if you have a lot of images. 5) |

First, thank you very much. That got me started on the right road to getting these colors changed! Secondly, "Pank" is the guy who created the 'Skin' for this vBulletin board. I can't believe you didn't know that since you have over 3,000 posts here! Hehehe. ;) Anyway, the guy is really good. IMO the best "Skin" developer for vBuilletin out there. Again, Mattboy, thank you so much for helping me. I have a feeling before I'm done with this little project I'm going to be back here asking for help. You guys are incredible! ~ CB |

I think mattboy meant that he had never seen a .psd for one of pank's skins. |

Galaphile is correct. Pank and I have a rather, ahem, 'intimate' relationship. He just does not desire to show me the .psd files during our leg-combing sessions.

I should have known you'd know him. You couldn't hang here that long and not know the "Skin Guru". Anyway thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll get myself into another jam before I have this all straightened out. But I have it installed and I love it. Now to change the header and tweak some of the colors! Late. ~CB |
