hi everyone Right, i was wondering how i would make an old, pirate style map interface (go here : http://www.ffalpha.com : the nav bars) I want to make a map style for a section to my site. I saw it on another site, and it was called burnt edges of something...but i lost the site! Anyone gimmie a tutorial on how to do this? |

Simple: make the new document.... create a new channel (alpha 1) make your paper shape (lasso, rectangle, whatever) and fill with white.... deselect Now go filter>pixelate>crystallize (play with this a little till you like the edge... (3 or 4 looks pretty cool) add a touch of guassian blur if the edges look too harsh. NOW.. create a new layer and go: select>load selection select alpha 1 fill that selection with white (or your off-white paper color) give that layer an "inner shadow" of a dark brown color....and maybe a tiny drop shadow. Now apply a paper type texture and you are in business... |
