I have photoshop v8 cs... What is the best Version of Photoshop todo many of these tutorials. And this tutorial here. I try for many hours todo some of these. But for some reason, I just don't think that v9 cs is the right one to be doing these. Thank you!

It’s a matter of stubbornness and taste i personally use cs, new tools rock, but i know many oldtimers still run number 6 and 5 and wont change for the world. The tutorial works well in any photoshop version with alfa layers.

That phong tutorial was made with 5.5 I'd imagine. I use version 7, it's really not that big a deal, unless you heavily rely on those new features. I usually stay a version behind.
