I know you're going to probably tell me that BMPs don't have the ability to have transparent backgrounds.... But.... I just bought Dynamic Toolbar 3, and in order to get the toolbar graphics to be transparent, they need to have the background #FF00FF, and do a Save As, and save them as 24 bit bitmaps. Well... I tried that, and I have #FF00FF halos everywhere (around graphics/text, etc). I'm stumped :/ ScreenShot: http://www.rockergrrl.com/bmpss.jpg BMP: http://www.rockergrrl.com/search.bmp I didn't create this particular bmp, I got it from a sample toolbar that came with Dynamic Toolbar. It worked fine in their toolbar, but for some reason it doesn't mine :/ There's a screen of the logo: http://www.rockergrrl.com/logo-halo.jpg PSD of Logo: http://www.rockergrrl.com/joylogo.zip If someone can give me a heads up in what I did wrong (so I can get it right next time), that would be great! Thanks in advance! |

The reason that's happening is the program your using (im guessing) doesnt support any advanced transparency. Pixels are either transparent, or opaque......meaning no semi-transparent pixels, which result from anti-aliasing on the pink BG. Notice how in the screenshot....the edges are aliased. What you can do to fix it......is either alter the image so it looks good aliased (it's small, so it wont be noticable) OR use the color of the button as your background color. You could also redraw(trace) the image with the pencil tool. |

Well I'm using Photoshop CS as my editor. The instructions in the manual say to put the background as #FF00FF, and that's it. *shrug* I was tempted to use the default IE toolbar background color as the background for each button - but unfortunately, if one of his visitors changes his their windows 3D colors, it would show up as the default light tan color that windows uses for their 3D color. I contacted Visicom Media, and they just told me to read the manual (grrr). I'll mess with it more tonight. Thanks! |
