Hi all, Could anyone advise me if it is possible, and if so how to create an action with a brush. I've created a brush which is just my copyright information that I want to stamp in the bottom left of every photograph when it is converted to a JPEG. My convert to JPEG action works fine, but I can't seem to record an action that uses the brush. I've created a new action and done the following: -Select brush tool - Select brush preset (my copyright info) - Add new layer - click in bottom left of layer to paint copyright info on - Set layer opacity to 40% - Use Layer -> Flatten Image - Stop recording My resulting action is as follows: Action 1 Select Brush Select Brush "2004... Make Layer Set current layer To: layer Opacity: 4% Set current layer To: layer Opacity: 40% Flatten Image There is nothing in there about the actual brush stroke though. Can anyone point me to a resource that summarises what you can and can't do with layers and advice any other means for achieving this ? Thanks in advance, |

I'm pretty sure that you can't use brushes in actions. Custom shapes would work, though... Or adding a text layer with styles et al... Or pasting a layer that you selected, then change its blending mode... The ULTIMATE reference about Actions can be found on this page: http://www.atncentral.com/installing.htm |

So what would be the easiest way of tagging multiple photos with copyright info using a largely transparant layer ? I don't mind having to create it all up front, but I want something that I can use in an action during my JPEG creation step. Thanks, |

The mega tutorial I linked to has SEVERAL sections about batching copyright info. did you look at it? there's a Table of Contents, so you can directly go to the good section. Maybe was I not clear in my answer: brushes will NOT work, but the custom shape, text layer, or pixel layer ways will work. You'll need to use free transform to position the copyright info in the good location, and a flatten since JPEG does not support layers. See also this thread at PsT that outlines different solutions to add copyright. |
