Hi all,

I am new here (obviously, huh?) and am having a hard time with an animation. It is 134 frames, I have spent a bunch of time on it, and I'm losing my mind over this deal.
It was originally like 120 frames, then I added more in Photoshop. The last frame is solid black and when I saved and reopened in ImageReady not only was the last frame black....THEY ALL WERE!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :(
I see all the individual frames in the layer pallette but not in the animation thing.
I know it's something real easey I'm missing and I wish I had time to take classes on this stuff but I have a job that pretty much is running my life at the moment.
Please put me out of my misery.

If the black frame is the top layer, chances are that it was not hidden in all of the frames. I have added a layer to an existing set and had it appear in all of the frames. If that is the problem you can easily select all of the frames and then hide that layer.

If the layers are already in order and there is not much you need to do to them, then you can go to the drop down menu in the Animation palette and there is a choice there that says "make frames from layers". This option should create new frames in the animation, one for each layer.

True. But it sounds like his problem is that he has an existing PSD file he is working on. He added a new layer (completely black) and it is now showing in all of the animation frames. If he does the "make frames from layers" it would have to be from a gif file (to my knowledge) and all layers would be deleted.

Correct me if I am wrong.

If you insist. Yes that is incorrect.

If you take a multilayer PSD file from Photoshop to ImageReady it initially starts you off with only the first frame, right? And you create the rest of the frames yourself.

Or if you choose "make frames from layers" in the animation palette dropdown menu then IR will create a frame from each layer. If you have 20 layers it'll make you 20 frames each with the content of it's corresponding layer.

No layers get deleted and the gif format has nothing to do with it and is not involved in any way.

Now I understand. I thought you were talking about using the gif file. You were talking about the PSD file.

Thanks,
