I've learned a bit about lighting since I started this project and currently I saw no other way but to use PS. http://www.2and2.net/Uploads/Images/PS-room_light.jpg I'd much appreciate good links dealing with creations of light beam Pls post comments |

Looks pretty sweet, perhaps you could make the beams a shade lighter, and lighten the area on the ball they hit. I'll take a look on good-tutorials.com for some light beams help.

Quick tip. Create a new layer on top. Set it to overlay. Get a brush, lower the hardness and flow alot and start painting over those rays ![]() EDIT - a white brush that is @ ~50px |

I was afraid you might ask that. The trouble is I just "winged" it and if I were to do it again I'd probably do something different. But you seem like a smart guy, so I'll just give you the .PSD file with layers intact and hopefully you can analyze it and see what I did. It's pretty simple. http://0ut.home.comcast.net/lightbeam.zip |

Duga, I think you are getting closer with your last attempt. I think the problem lies in that you are attempting to paint the entire beam (the entire width of the window) In outpatient's example you will see that only the edges of the light are clearly defined more of a gradient where there is nothing in the center and it lightens as it extends to the edges. Also in your picuture part of the problem is that only the top windows have light coming through them. I do not know how it would look but try creating a layer - fill it with the gradient as discribed above and then mess around with the blending options like overlay or lighten. But only have the edges clearly defined. Post the pic without any of the light and I will mess around and see what I can come up with. E |
