Would anyone have happened to run by a tutorial on how to make the metal bar at the top? The majority of the metal bar tutorials seem to be gradient ones, while the alienware one has a clear cut line in the center.

Simple: 2 gradients.
Select half of the bar and do the gradient from light grey to dark grey. Then select the other half and do another gradient from white to light grey. Then apply a 10% (or so) carbon fibre texture to the top half.
