i'm trying to make a banner for a jewelry store and the guy wants a wire-frame diamond that rotates... i have absolutely no clue where to begin. does anyone know how to accomplish this? can it be done in photoshop/imageready? here's an example of what i am trying to achieve: http://c3po.barnesos.net/~cab/Old_Caltech_Page/povray/diamond/rotating_mirrored_diamond.gif except i want just the wire-frame of the diamond, not actual shading, and also maybe have the diamond rotated 45 degrees to the left. |

Hmm...a 3D program would be the best solution for this...but if you can't do that, you might have to resort to tracing that image (whether that's legal or not, I'm not sure). This would be very time consuming, but you could open that up in imageready, export the animation to layers, and trace the layers in photoshop.

The rotation is probably only 3, maybe 4 images at max that repeat. You can achieve this in ImageReady. Are you asking how to do the animated gif in ImageReady? Do you have the wire-frame in a 3D program that will allow you to increment the model (rotate) and save the images? Then you just assemble them as layers in PS, and then in ImageReady turn on and off the layers to create the frames for the animation. Or not. |

unfortunately, the wireframe is not in a 3d program, its drawn in photoshop. i guess i have to draw the different parts on different layers and try rotating them each seperately? anyways, thanks fellas. by the way, do you guys know where i can find info on creating roll over bars that roll down when the mouse goes over the button? (like on teamphotoshop.com, when you put the mouse over one of the buttons and the links roll down. how do you code it?) |

Look for a script on Dynamic Drive or Hot Scripts
